Letters, ca. 1860-1914.

Collection includes four letters to the writer Charles Asselineau concerning work on a portrait of Asselineau (n.d.). Four letters to the writer Lucien Descaves comment on Descaves' literary ventures and mention briefly the critic Gustave Geffroy (1890-1914). There is one letter from Braquemond's wife to Descaves thanking him for the return of a painting and also mentioning Geffroy (1926?). Seven letters to the critic Maurice Guillemot notably concern illustrations for articles on which they are collaborating and Jerome Doucet's intention to make a photographic portrait of the artist (1891-1908). One letter to the dealer Fabre regards the price of art objects (1888). Individual letters are addressed to Giraldon (1892), Rouart (1890), Drouet (1893), and Malassis (1860). Fifteen letters are to unknown correspondents and generally concern reproductive engraving (1884-87, n.d.). Collection includes an engraving of ducks by Bracquemond. In alphabetical order by correspondent.
